Before giving a discount, review the stock

Four records that make festival sale planning more useful than guessing a discount percentage.

A discount can bring attention, but it can also reduce the margin on products that would have sold anyway. Start with stock information before choosing an offer.

Make a simple list: product name, quantity, purchase cost, selling price, and the date of the last sale. Also note direct selling costs, such as delivery or payment fees, where relevant.

Separate fast sellers, slow sellers and old stock. AI can help organize this list and suggest questions to investigate, but verify the calculations and the original records.

Review the margin after discount and direct costs. Avoid treating revenue as profit. A bundle, a service benefit or a targeted offer may fit better than discounting every item.

Track what happened during the promotion: units sold, cash collected, stock reduced and margin after costs. This gives you a better starting point for the next festival.

This is general planning guidance. Actual pricing depends on your costs, customers and business conditions.
